All 4x4/ATV trails are
open to hikers, horses,
mountain bikes,
motorcycles, ATV’s, and
jeeps.  They are typically
winding and steep with
large rock steps and so
are often very difficult for
horses, mountain
bikes, and motorcycles.

4W306 MANASTASH RIDGE JEEP TRAIL

RATING – 3 because of deep rutting and soil conditions.
MILES – 8.6 miles
Elevation Low – 6000
Elevation High – 6,290
Gain – 290

Trail Access –
The trail can be accessed from the south by Naches Ranger District 4x4 trails,  from Buck Meadows via 4WD307 and 4W308,
or from Quartz Mountain (the northwest end of trail).

Description –
This trail begins at Quartz Mountain and runs along the Manastash Ridge, the boundary line between the Naches and Cle
Elum Ranger Districts.  It ends at Rocky saddle, where it turns into single-track trail 1388.1 (Rocky Saddle is a knife-edge
ridge too narrow for jeeps).  4WD328, 4WD309, and 4WD308 can be accessed from the Manastash Ridge trail, along with
various Naches R.D. 4x4 trails.  We suggest purchasing or downloading a Naches map when traveling to this area. Jeepers
wishing to continue east can bypass Rocky saddle via 4W309, 4W330, and 4W307 to join back up with Manastash Ridge trail
(now numbered 694 and administered by the Naches Ranger District) in the vicinity of “Funny Rocks”.  Trail 694 continues
east 4.5 miles to the National Forest boundary, where street-legal vehicles can drive the Barber Springs road (not well signed)
back to the main Manastash road.

you guessed it- a tripod in the center).  Stay on the trail!   Do not drive across the meadow!!  After Tripod Flats, you will travel

at the junction with 4WD306.

Gain – 940’

Trail Access -
From I-90 Exit 101, travel south and southeast onto Thorp Highway from 2 miles.  Turn right onto Cove Road.  Follow Cove

attempt to wheel or ride if the trail is wet.  The descent is steep and treacherous.

Road.  Follow Cove Road to the junction with Manastash Road and turn right and follow Manastash Road to the end of the
pavement.  Continue on FS Road 3100 to Rider’s Campground.

Description-
This is a tight and technical trail.  It starts at Rider’s Campground and travels across the Buck Meadows bridge, meandering
uphill through the trees to the top of the ridge. 4W311 is fairly easy and straight; 4W311.1 provides a much tighter and – in
places- steeper alternative.   Downhills are extremely challenging when wet.  This trail winds through several clear cuts  (pay
attention – easy to get off trail), before ending back at road 3100.  Adopted and maintained by the Wandering Willies Jeep Club.
