Setting: Stream (bridge crossings), riparian
zone, valley bottom, large old growth trees,
open hillsides, meadows, clearcuts and
partial cuts, road.
Description: This is one of the most
popular off-road motorcycle trail in
Washington. The trail crosses the north
side of FS Road 33, parallels the road for
several miles, crosses the 3300-133 road,
and follows near the North Fork Taneum
Creek, crossing it several times. All
crossings in the lower eight miles are
bridged. After passing the Jct. with trail
1378, the trail enters logging areas and
crosses other roads. Just past Buttes Creek
(at 9.4 miles) is the junction with Lightning
Point Trail 1377.2 which goes to the right
and climbs steeply for 2.4 miles (best ridden
downhill) and connects the Cle Elum Ridge
Trail 1326. Your next junction past
Lightning will be with trail 1367. Trail 1367
will take you to a popular junction called
"four-corners". If you remain on the 1377, at
the 13 mile mark, the 1377 trail leaves the
logging and continues along the creek to an
old trail shelter. From the shelter, the trail
climbs up to Windy Pass and ends at the
junction with Cle Elum Ridge Trail #1326.

Trailhead Access: From I-90 take exit 93,
go east on the county road to Taneum
Road, west on Taneum Road (turns into
Forest Service Road 33), west to the
junction with FS Road 3300-133. Parking is
across the bridge and between two forks of
Taneum Creek at Taneum Junction. You
can continue to drive past Taneum Jct. to
FS Road 3322 to access trail, or park and
take the Taneum Ridge Trail #1363 to
Fishhook Flats Trail #1378 (south) to trail
#1367.
Setting: Stream, riparian zone, large old
growth trees, valley bottom, hillsides,
clearcuts.
Description: This trail generally follows the
banks of South Fork Taneum Creek. The
trail is rutted and rocky in places and is
generally only a "fair" trail. Tread is narrow
and very loose on several sidecut hills.
After a few miles, the trail heads up to a
saddle in a large clearcut at the top of the
ridge and crosses Taneum Ridge Trail
#1363 (called "four-corners). From there,
the trail heads downhill with a fairly
moderate grade and a wider smoother
tread. There is a series of long switchbacks
in the timber and then the trail descends
through a large clearcut, crosses FS Road
3300, and ends at a junction with the North
Fork Taneum Trail #1377.
